Program Budgetary Needs
March 10, 2021
Rationale: Element 3.1 - Candidates understand and can monitor and evaluate school management and operational systems.
Program Budgetary Needs Assessment exhibits this standard by demonstrating how a well created needs assessment can provide insight to where your resources are targeted, who is benefiting from them, and if they are meeting expected needs. It provided insight into a budget that I monitor as Director of Instructional Technology for my current school district. The budget is allocated to funding digital subscriptions for the district that support student learning. The artifact below, Program Leader Interview, is the follow up to the assessment created here. |
Program Leader InterviewMarch 17, 2021
Rationale: Element 3.1 - Candidates understand and can monitor and evaluate school management and operational systems. Element 3.2 - Candidates understand and can efficiently use human, fiscal, and technological resources to manage school operations
Program Leader Interview exhibits Element 3.1 by demonstrating how a needs assessment allowed me to understand and evaluate the current usage, effectiveness, and needs of the district as it relates to digital subscriptions that support student learning. It also exhibits Element 3.2 by demonstrating methods and procedures for managing digital subscriptions and analyzing a school’s budget and financial status. The summary and reflection reveals the key findings of the needs assessment and the strain unexpected expenses, like a pandemic, can have on a budget. This artifact is a follow up to the assessment presented above in Program Budgetary Needs Assessment. |

Candidates understand and efficiently use human, physical, and technological resources to manage school operations. Candidates understand and can promote school-based policies and procedures that protect the welfare and safety of students and staff within the school. Candidates understand and can ensure teacher and organizational time focuses on supporting high-quality School instruction and student learning.
Maker Space exhibits these elements by demonstrating how I analyzed how space was being used and developed a future space utilization plan for the district. This plan was presented to the administrative council and has led to the formation of a planning committee. |

Adverse Situation exhibits these standards by demonstrating how I would, as principal, efficiently use human, fiscal, and technological resources during an air conditioning outage in a school located in Arizona. Adverse Situation also demonstrates how I consider the safety and welfare of students and staff as I adjust the schedule for the day to ensure that learning can continue in an environment that is conducive for learning. The solution and rationale provided comply with laws, rights, and policies and involve the appropriate stakeholders. |
